A research room, designed for the Modernautställningen, gathered exhibiting artists mainly working with performance, lectures and seminars, outside the conventional object-based frame. The space incorporated 3 specific functions that could occur simultaneously, namely lectures for larger audiences, individual media stations for archive research and finally that of a passageway between the remaining exhibition spaces.Semi-transparent mesh screens in different formats and heights separated the space according to its different functions, thus creating an impression of a maze with overlapping layers of light and shadows, maintaining an open spatiality in the room.
