Play was a film and video exhibition with selected works from Moderna Museets collection.The initial idea of the name Play refers to the play button and suggests performative actions as well. This playfulness was also reflected in the concept of the exhibition design where moving images were projected on walls, floors or angled screens with irregular and step-like modules as seating areas, placed in between the screens so that several projections could be viewed from a single position.The room’s dark blue, textile wall and floor material also referred to semi-dark movie theatres, where visitors found their way by using small flashlights but also through the lit lower edges of the seating modules.
