THE PHANTOM COLLECTION

Södertälje Konsthall, Södertälje, Sweden 2021

A kaleidoscopic installation of colorful and moving shadows on a succession of screens confronts visitors upon entering the exhibition space. Only after the viewer has circled around the screens does it become clear that the images are projections of backlit glass and ceramic pots, carafes and vases, resting on shelves or revolving plates. It is a collection of Swedish design objects retold and remarked upon by its fictive collector, through a sound piece. The installation comments on the history of Swedish design politics in society since the early 30´s up until our days.
